University of Versailles Graduate School of Management (ISM-UVSQ)

Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France

Focus: Business and Trade
Location: Washington, D.C.

Continuing a longstanding partnership, CIED conducted 20 programs for a total of over 500 students and managers from the University of Versailles, France. Each five-day program included academic instruction hours complemented with a professional site visit or briefing in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. Programs also contained a day-long field trip to selected manufacturing and/or trade companies, local government, advocacy, and environmental organizations in Maryland, Pennsylvania, or Virginia.

Each program had a unique focus area or theme, including: General Management; Human Resources Management; Marketing, Quality and Buyers; Quality, Safety and Environment; International Management of Perfumes and Cosmetics; Management of Communication; Change and Strategic Management; Business, Quality, and Clients; Change Management and Consulting.

Professor José Luis Guerrero, PhD, from Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business served as the Academic Director for these programs. In consultation and coordination with Professors Philippe Hermel and Annie Bartoli of the University of Versailles, he designed coursework and secured program faculty. CIED worked closely with the academic team to arrange for appropriate site visits. In addition, CIED arranged all logistics including housing, meals, local transportation, site visits, and field trips.


University of Salzburg Business School

Salzburg, Austria

Focus: Business and Trade
Location: Washington, D.C.

CIED conducted two ten-day programs with the University of Salzburg Business School in Austria. The programs focused on international and project management and each included academic instruction and site visits or professional briefings. Professor Eric Langenbacher served as the Academic Director and was responsible for the academic content and the faculty. CIED arranged the site visits and professional briefings, and were responsible for all the program logistics and administration.


Universidad Mayor

Santiago, Chile

Focus: Business and Trade
Location: Washington, D.C.

CIED developed and conducted a five-day program with students from the Universidad Mayor in Santiago, Chile. The program focused on innovation, management techniques, corporate social responsibility, globalization, and relations between China and Latin America. Professor Jose Luis Guerrero served as the Academic Director responsible for academic content and faculty. CIED secured and arranged site visits and coordinated all program logistics.


Universidad Finis Terrae

Santiago, Chile

Focus: Business and Trade
Location: Washington, D.C.

CIED conducted a five-day program for the Universidad Finis Terrae that focused on innovation, management techniques, corporate social responsibility, globalization, and relations between China and Latin America. Professor Jose Luis Guerrero served as the Academic Director responsible for academic content and faculty. CIED secured and arranged site visits and coordinated all program logistics.


Universidad Sergio Arboleda

Bogotá, Colombia

Focus: International Relations
Location: Washington, D.C.

CIED expanded its partnership with Universidad Sergio Arboleda and developed and conducted a ten-day program focused on international relations and trade. The program included academic instruction and site visits and professional briefings. Prof. Eric Langenbacher, from Georgetown’s Department of Government served as the Academic Director for this program and secured academic sessions and CIED arranged all program logistics, including professional site visits and briefings, local transportation and on-campus housing.


Universidad de Especialidades Espíritu Santo

Guayaquil, Ecuador

Focus: Business and Trade
Location: Washington, D.C.

Based on a successful pilot program begun in 2011, CIED conducted a five-day program for Universidad de Especialidades Espíritu Santo. The program contained academic instruction focused on various elements of international business and marketing. Professor Jose Luis Guerrero served as the Academic Director responsible for academic content and faculty. The program also included professional site visits and briefings in Washington, D.C. CIED arranged all program logistics including on-campus housing.


Universidad de Celaya

Guanajuato, Mexico

Focus: American Studies and Government
Location: Washington, D.C.

CIED developed a three-day program for Universidad de Celaya of Mexico. The program contained academic instruction focused on various elements of international business and American economic and political system. The program also included professional site visits in Washington, D.C.


Universidad Pontificia Comillas

Madrid, Spain

Focus: Law and Diplomacy
Location: Washington, D.C.

For the last sixteen years, CIED has been in partnership with Universidad Pontifica Comillas to conduct two three-week programs each year for undergraduate students titled Inside Washington: Law, Development and Diplomacy and Inside Washington: Technology, Policy and Sustainable Development. The programs consisted of academic instruction by Georgetown professor Eric Langenbacher. There were also several educational site visits to government agencies, international institutions, non-profits, law firms, and think tanks in Washington D.C. José Herrero of Comillas served as Program Director supervising and assisting the groups with all program activities. CIED coordinated academic sessions and arranged program logistics, including campus classrooms and on-campus housing.

In addition to these two programs, CIED conducted a two week International Relations program in collaboration with Universidad Pontífica Comillas. The International Relations program included academic instruction and site visits and professional briefings. Emiliano García Coso of Comillas served as Program Director supervising and assisting the group with all program activities. Professor Eric Langenbacher from Georgetown’s Department of Government served as the Academic Director for this program and secured academic sessions. CIED arranged all program logistics, including professional site visits and briefings, local transportation, and on-campus housing.


Escuela de Negocios Caixanova

Vigo, Spain

Focus: Business and Trade
Location: Washington, D.C.

For the last ten years, CIED has partnered with Escuela de Negocios Caixanova to develop a one-week, International Business Program for Executive and MBA groups of this Spanish university. Professor Jose Luis Guerrero served as the Academic Director designing program academic content and securing Georgetown faculty.


Escuela de Negocios ESEUNE

Bilbao, Spain

Focus: Leadership
Location: Washington, D.C.

Since 2004, CIED has partnered with Escuela de Negocios ESEUNE to develop International Executive Programs for graduate students and executives. CIED conducted two programs with ESEUNE—a one-week program for Spanish executives and a two-week program for a group of Global MBA students. Professor Jose Luis Guerrero served as the Academic Director responsible for academic design and faculty. CIED arranged professional site visits and program logistics, including on-campus housing.
