Jorge Abeledo
Director, Youth Ambassadors Program
Jorge Abeledo has an extensive career dedicated to the design and implementation of international and intercultural education programs working closely with students, educators and universities across Latin America and the United States. He is the current Director of the Youth Ambassadors Program at CIED and previously at the Center he managed the Scholarship for Education and Economic Development program, the Cooperative Association of States for Scholarships program, and the Indigenous and Afro-Latino Scholarship program.
Jorge is originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he was Assistant Professor at the Institute of Human Development the Universidad Nacional General Sarmiento (UNGS) teaching media and communication and researching the use of informational technologies in education. His international experience began early in life when his family moved to Chile and the United States before returning to Argentina where he finished high school. He holds a Master in Learning, Design, and Technology from Georgetown University, and a Master in Communication from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He also earned a Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate from the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University. Jorge speaks, reads, and writes in English and Spanish.
