Georgetown University was proud to welcome a cohort of 21 Master’s students in International Affairs from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (Madrid, Spain) for a two-week academic program titled “International Affairs: Economics, Politics, and Law,” held from June 9–21, 2025.

Designed to provide a comprehensive overview of global governance and diplomacy from a U.S. perspective, the program featured a series of lectures by Georgetown faculty on subjects ranging from U.S. foreign and security policy to global trade and international relations with China and Russia. As part of the academic lineup, students also had the opportunity to engage with James Siebens from the Stimson Center, who delivered an in-depth session on international political risk analysis.

The program extended beyond the classroom with experiential learning opportunities at several key institutions across Washington, DC. Students visited the U.S. Capitol, U.S. Department of State, Inter-American Development Bank, and The Heritage Foundation, offering firsthand insights into U.S. policymaking and international collaboration.

The program concluded with group presentations, where students demonstrated their understanding of the themes explored over the two weeks. Their final projects reflected not only their academic engagement but also the collaborative spirit of the cohort.

This initiative underscores Georgetown’s commitment to fostering global dialogue and preparing future leaders for careers in international affairs. We extend our sincere thanks to all faculty, guest speakers, and institutional partners who contributed to this enriching experience—and we wish the Comillas students continued success in their professional journeys around the world.
