About

For more than 35 years, Georgetown University’s Center for Intercultural Education and Development (CIED) has been a leader in developing and implementing a diverse array of international programs. We tailor programs to the unique needs of our partners—government agencies, private enterprises, universities, and NGOs worldwide. Our customized academic exchange programs tap the spectacular academic resources of Georgetown University as well as our extensive network of public sector and corporate leaders. With a diverse team of professionals, CIED has the capacity, management expertise, and experience to deliver programs in Washington, D.C., and anywhere in the world.

Our track record of successfully administering and managing more than 200 government grant-funded programs makes us a trusted partner of the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Agency for International Development, and embassies around the globe.

All CIED programs have a focus on building intercultural understanding, fulfilling Georgetown University’s mission to prepare global citizens to lead, serve, and change the world. We design and implement short- and long-term programs and workshops on virtually any topic of interest to our program partners. CIED’s flagship Gateway to Georgetown programs bring together students and professionals from around the world with Georgetown faculty. Through our collaboration with departments, centers, and schools across the University, we ensure that program participants receive world class training and that our institutional partners and faculty benefit from CIED’s extensive experience in program design and logistics.
